Early in October we attended the British Lymphoedema Society’s annual conference in Chester.
It was a hugely positive experience, meeting many nurses who are using our services and hearing about how transformational it has been for patient care. It was a real chance for people to put a face to the name, so to speak, with Gary, Sarah, Sam, Neil and Emily on-hand to discuss our services and approach to hosiery prescription delivery.
Emily sums the event up nicely: “This was my first time attending and it was great. Working for Patient Choice made us celebrities. Having all the nurses come and speak to us about our service and how great it is along with mentioning the team who speak to them on the phone was very heart warming. We also had the opportunity to speak to nurses not using our service and how excited they were to speak to us further and start using us.”
It wasn’t all plain sailing, as Gary broke his foot in the hotel – but the positivity around the event soon put a smile back on his face.
