Patient Choice sponsors Sampford Arundel youth cricket

Young cricketers in Wellington have been bowled over by Patient Choice’s shirt sponsorship.

Patient Choice has funded youth team shirts for the Sampford Arundel Cricket Club, which means reduced expense for parents and more funds for club improvements.

Tony Hutchings from the club said: “The sponsorship money purchased the playing shirts for our Under 14 team, which allows us to then reduce joining fees for families, therefore opening up cricket to more children.

“Each child in the side was given a playing shirt as part of joining our club, which again reduces costs for families, and means everyone will appear in club clothing, irrespective of means or background.

“Our teams played in the East Devon Youth Cricket league, and we aim to have an U13 and U15 representing the club this summer. By having sponsors other club funds are then released to be able to improve on and off field facilities.”

Neil Basil, managing director at Patient Choice, an NHS Dispensing Appliance Contractor, said: “We’re delighted to be sponsoring the shirts. Our business is enjoying a period of growth and we need good local staff, and sponsorship is a great way to get our name seen in the area.

“We also know how tough it has been through the pandemic for community sports clubs like this. Sponsors will help secure the future of the club and the role it performs in the town, and we’re very pleased be involved.”
